Some heartfelt thank you's from our brave men and women serving overseas...

Dear Ms. Elliot,

Many thanks for the much appreciated and welcomed package which I received yesterday.  It did wonders for my morale.  Just knowing that someone cared enough to wish me, an unknown, a Merry Christmas, meant the world to me.

Normally, it is me, in my role as chaplain, who is expected to uplift morale.  In this case, you did it for me through your mailing to the RCAG in Kandahar.  Again, thank you and your team for your efforts.

May God grant you the peace and joy of the Christmas Season throughout the New Year.

Sincerely,

Ch (COLONEL) Frank Ziemkiewicz

Dear Melanie Elliott,

Just wanted to thank you for the boxes that we received from your organization, I will be distributing them this week.  Lot's of the young Marines and Sailor don't have capabilities for email.  Again thanks so much, I will try to get some picture and send you some ok.  Blessings!

Semper Fidelis,

Dear Operation SOS,

I received a package from your organization. I really appreciate it. I appreciate getting the goodies but I appreciate the support you are showing to us service men and women. Sometimes it is easy to forget the reason that we are away from home fighting the war here in Afghanistan and if it is even worth being away from my family for over a year.  Receiving a package that shows the support the American people have for us reminds me that it is the great American people that we are fighting for.

I am a full-time National Guard Soldier from Omaha, NE. I am serving as an Embedded Trainer (combat advisor) with Afghan National Army. My team is made up of guys from all around the country, New Mexico, Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Wyoming and Virginia. It has been an interesting experience living and working the Afghan Army. Some of it has been good and some not so good. Most of the time, I sit back and think of how fortunate and spoiled we have become. We do live in the greatest country in the world.

Thank you for your support. I wish you a Happy Holiday season. May God be with you.

the way it is not only from our soldiers but on our base we have marines, sailors, and airman.

They say thanks a bunch also!

I just wanted to say "Thank You!" for what you are doing for all of us serving.  I received two boxes this week and gave them to my troops.  Every thing in the box is a need for us in the remote parts of Afghanistan, and we DO appreciate it. My soldiers and some of my Afghan soldiers have not seen many of these items in weeks.  Thank you for the kind jesture.  It is very reassuring to know that what we do is not overlooked.

My name is Sean Brown.  I am the Commander of A Troop, 1st of the 32nd Cavalry stationed out of Ft. Campbell with the 101st Airborne Division.  I, and several of my Soldiers, have received several of you packages.  I would like to send a heartfelt thank you from myself and all them men of my Command.  Support from organizations like yours is much appreciated and the care you have put into each box has not gone unnoticed.  Packages from home are the most anticipated event while we are deployed.  Again, I would like to thank you and all of the volunteers at Operation SOS.

Just wanted to thank you for the packages you sent us. I work with a group of 4 NCO's and 7 Officers who are from  five different states. Our mission over here is to train, teach and menter the Afghanistan Army to be a proficient fighting force. It has been trying to say the least but are moving forward.

We appreciate what you do and keep up the good work. God bless everyone involved over there and thank you for keeping us in your prayers.

Melanie, my name is CPT Alejandro Ramirez I am the Troop Commander for B 1-32 CAV and I want to tell you how much I appreciate the boxes that Operation SOS has sent, the soldiers here already know who you are and when they see a box they jump for joy.  I am very proud of what I do and my whole troop feels the same way, but the most motivation they could ever recieve is when someone like you tells them how much they appreciate what they are doing and how proud you are for what they do.
Thanks.
